Uniform2 Community Values

Uniform2 is a community that encourages open and honest communication among all its members. Our community can be described by it's five core values:

Uniform2 is firmly committed to these principles. And we believe that community members should also honour them—whether buying or selling with other Uniform2 users.

Why You Must Be Over 16 Years Old to Register

Uniform2 want to maintain a safe environment on the website, and in order to protect children from any possible exploitation, we wish that all users who register with us are over 16 years of age. We think that at this age, a child will be mature enough to be aware of potential suspicious activity that could occur whilst using the Internet, and that they will have the responsiblity to report such, if any occurs, to Uniform2 and their parents or guardians immediately. This minimum age stipulation is for our user's benefit, it is not required by law. Uniform2 is not liable in any way for any actions that users choose to make.

Safety Advice

Uniform2 is not liable in any way for the safety of its users once trading offline. However, we also care about our users, and want to provide you with some sensible guidelines that you might want to consider when meeting buyers and sellers to trade. It is entirely up to how much caution you want to take when trading, but you could ensure any of the following:

  • You could arrange to meet in a public, neutral space to trade. e.g. A cafe, a town square, a school run drop-off point, rather than at one of your homes.
  • Your child(ren) should not have anything to do with Uniform2 unless they are over 16 years old and you feel you can trust them to be responsible, but again, this is entirely your decision.
  • You might want to withold any personal information from the seller or buyer: your address can be kept private, unless you want to give it out!

Uniform2's Liability for Any Images on the Website

Suspicious Membership Activity

Uniform2 manually check member's selling and buying records in case of any suspicious activity, relating to school uniforms. If we think that any Uniform2 member is not a genuine parent or guardian, or student, then we will carry out further checks and will decide on what action to take. Disciplinary action may result in a formal warning, temporary sanction, or indefinite suspension. If a suspicious record of activity can't be proven with certainty, we may take no action. Due to privacy issues, it's not possible for Uniform2 to discuss the results of an investigation, and we will not discuss any suspicions publicly.

False Contact Information

Uniform2 policy prohibits falsifying or omitting your name, address, and/or telephone number (including use of fax machines or disconnected numbers).

Seller not selling according to your agreement

All users are advised to check ad details carefully before entering into any agreements of any kind. It is the seller's and the buyer's responsibility to commit to their written agreement, and Uniform2 is not liable for any loss resulting from a broken agreement. If in doubt, please seek legal advice. Uniform2 would like to keep the website community a friendly one, and so if you experience any problem with other Uniform2 members, please get in touch with full details and we will check the user's records.

Report a Suspicious or Offensive Advert

If you find an advert offensive in any way, Uniform2 asks you to report that advert to us. Uniform2 will consider the circumstances of an alleged policy violation and the user's trading record before taking action. Disciplinary action may result in a formal warning, temporary sanction, or indefinite suspension. If a complaint can't be proven with certainty, we may take no action. Due to privacy issues, it's not possible for Uniform2 to discuss the results of an investigation.

Profanity

Relates to any mis-use of the website, such as using your account to offend others in any way. In this particular instance, any inappropriate language and/or imagery will prompt Uniform2 to take disciplinary action, which may result in the indefinite suspension of a user's account, temporary suspension, or a formal warning. Uniform2 will consider the circumstances of an alleged offense and the user's selling/buying records before taking action.

Prohibited Items

Uniform2 is for the advertising of school uniforms, and any items being advertised that are not school uniform items, will be checked and investigated. We reserve the right to edit and/or remove such items, and to take disciplinary action against the offending user. Disciplinary action may result in the indefinite suspension of a user's account, temporary suspension, or a formal warning.

We understand that there are ambiguous school uniform items, (some items are not school-specific and may confuse: we allow school-specific, e.g. blazers, and some non-school-specific, e.g. rugby boots), and so we have provided a list of categories for you below. Potential items for sale must fall into one of these categories if you want to advertise them on Uniform2. All other types of item are prohibited.
