Richard Ferguson, Director announced today that uniform 2 is to become a free online community where parents of school children around the country can exchange school uniform for a fraction of the cost of buying uniform new.
Richard said; "We are delighted at this development which allows us to deliver a valuable service to schools and parents through the sponsorship of our sister company Aitken & Niven. Aitken & Niven has been delivering an online school uniform service for a number of years on the Internet, being the first retailer to sell uniform online in the UK." Online sales grew 269% last year, an impressive achievement set against average online increase of retail sales in the UK of 27% in 2005.
While the cost of schooling has increased dramatically in the last few years, Uniform 2 gives parents the opportunity to get the maximum use out of school uniforms, and puts parents in the same area in touch with each other to exchange, buy and sell uniform with ease.
